Five people face charges after a Hells Angels Motorcycle Club bust in an Ontario city.

Police searched two homes in the Waterloo Region and two unlicensed liquor establishments including the Hells Angels clubhouse in Kitchener in May, OPP said in a press release today (June 5).

The four search warrants were executed with support from the Waterloo Regional Police Service.

Officers seized a handgun, approximately one kilogram of suspected cocaine, a large quantity of alcohol and electronic devices in the searches.

Police arrested five people including one alleged “hang around” (person seeking to become a full-on member of the Hells Angels) and four alleged associates of the club.

The people were arrested on May 11, 13 and 21.

The five people face a total of 14 charges including drug trafficking, weapon and liquor related charges.

“The Hells Angels Motorcycle Club is an OMG (Outlaw Motorcycle Gang) that use their interest in motorcycles as a cover for illegal activities including drug trafficking, fraud, counterfeiting, money laundering, contraband smuggling, extortion, violence, and illegal gambling,” OPP Detective Inspector Scott Wade said in the press release.

“The Hells Angels have chapters and support clubs throughout the province. Citizens should minimize contact with gang members and report any OMG activity to the police service of jurisdiction in their community.”

The five people charged include Aaron Anstey, 48, of Kitchener, Jamie-Lee Belanger, 28, Matthew
Indewey, 38, of Cambridge, Mustaf Omar, 44, of Kitchener, and Theodore Phillips, 39, of Kitchener.
