Heavy police presence on scene for person in crisis in Mississauga

There’s a heavy presence of police officers and paramedics for a person in crisis early this morning in Mississauga.
Peel Regional Police say they’ve been on scene since 6:00 a.m. for a male barricaded inside of his residence in a state of crisis in the area of Fowler Dr., near Erin Mills Pkwy. and the QEW.
At this time there are no injuries reported.
Crisis negotiating team and further supports are being utilized in attempts to de-escalate the situation.
Please avoid area to provide time and space for first responders.

UPDATE: After nearly 10 hours on the scene, police took a man into custody at about 2 p.m. without incident.
No injuries were reported. The man was taken to hospital “for necessary treatment and support.”
Police say the man is under arrest and facing numerous charges.
