Heavy downpours, hail and thunderstorms forecast for southern Ontario

Heavy rain, hail and thunderstorms are in the forecast today for parts of southern Ontario.
In addition to temperatures feeling like nearly 40 C , people in southern Ontario could get some stormy weather Thursday, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.
Thunderstorms are possible for most of Ontario this afternoon and evening, Environment Canada said in a post on X.
Strong wind gusts and hail are possible over some regions.
Heavy downpours are expected over portions of southern Ontario.
The forecast for the GTA area is a mix of sun and cloud with 60 per cent chance of showers and a risk of a thunderstorm today. The humidex is expected to reach 39 C.
There is a 30 per cent chance of showers early Thursday evening with risk of a thunderstorm.
Fog patches could develop after midnight and a low of 21 C is expected.
