heat warning Mississauga

There is a heat warning in effect for Mississauga and Brampton.

Today could actually be the hottest day ever recorded on a May 31.

Hot and humid conditions are expected to continue today.

Maximum temperatures will reach the low thirties again today. Minimum temperatures in the low twenties will provide little relief from the heat tonight.

It is going to feel like 35c.

Cooler air is expected to arrive on Wednesday.

Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and can result in the Air Quality Health Index approaching the high risk category.

The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.

Reduce your heat risk. Schedule outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day.

Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
