Two men from Mississauga are dead and two others injured after an early evening head-on collision Tuesday in Niagara Falls.

The serious collision between a red 2018 Audi and white 2016 Toyota Tundra pickup took place around 6:42 p.m. in the area of Montrose Road south of Koabel Road.

“The initial investigation determined that a red 2018 Audi and a white 2016 Toyota Tundra pickup truck had collided head on,” said Niagara Regional Police.

The 26-year-old driver of the Audi, who was from Mississauga, was found to be in critical condition and had to be extracted from the wreckage. He was transported to a local hospital and died later from his injuries.

The 32-year-old passenger in the red Audi, also from Mississauga, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the Toyota, both 31-year-old males from Niagara Falls, were treated at the scene and taken to a hospital out of the region with serious but believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Roads in the area were closed for the investigation until approximately 2:36 a.m.
