A 38-year-old Hamilton man is in custody after being arrested at the scene of a robbery last weekend.
Hamilton Police (HPS) say that after arresting him, their investigation concluded that he was the outstanding suspect in four additional commercial robberies that took place within the previous 48 hours.
Shortly before 2 a.m. on Sunday (Aug. 21), HPS officers responded to a panic alarm at a business in King St. East / Holton Ave. area, in the east-end Gibons neighbourhood. They found an armed suspect. He was arrested.
“Officers quickly entered into verbal de-escalation with the suspect who was brandishing a knife,” HPS says.
The other four robberies took place between Aug. 19 and 21.
“None of the victims sustained any physical injuries during these robberies,” HPS adds.
Robert Kenneth Condon faces five counts of robbery.
