Police are investigating after someone reported hearing possible gunshots near a Brampton school on Wednesday (May 18).
Just before 8:30 a.m., Peel Regional Police say officers were called to the area of Somerset Drive Public School near Fanshawe Dr. and Somerset Dr.
The caller believed they heard a gunshot in the area, according to police.
A police spokesperson said the school was placed on hold-and-secure, but that order was lifted once officers arrived on scene.
Police said investigators located a residence in the area that had sustained damage, but confirmed that the damage was not the result of a gunshot.
The school is still open and police said to expect a presence in the area during the investigation.
