Two men face multiple firearm and drug-related charges after police searched a home in Mississauga last year.
On Dec. 29 (2024) officers conducted a search warrant at a home near Lakeshore Road and Hydro Road.
Peel Regional Police said that two loaded firearms were seized—one equipped with an extended magazine—alongside an auto sear, a device capable of converting a semi-automatic firearm into a fully automatic weapon. Officers also confiscated a quantity of drugs and Canadian money.
Rain Dunham, 25, of Mississauga, is charged with two counts of knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, two counts of possession of a prohibited device, possession of a firearm knowing its serial number was removed, altered, or defaced, possession of property obtained by crime and two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Jayden Hurley, 24, also from Mississauga, was already out on bail for several violent offences—including unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm, aggravated assault and discharging a firearm with intent. Police say he faces the same charges as Dunham and is additionally charged with possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order.
Both accused were held for bail hearings and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
“This investigation highlights our commitment to keeping our communities safe by removing dangerous and illegal firearms and drugs from the streets of Peel Region,” said Deputy Chief Marc Andrews. “We will continue to hold individuals accountable and advocate for reforms to strengthen the bail system and end this cycle of crime.”
