Guns and stolen car found at Square One in Mississauga

Three people have been arrested and charged with multiple firearm offences after police recovered a gun and stolen vehicle at Square One shopping centre in Mississauga last week.

On Thursday (July 25), Peel Regional Police officers were in the area of 100 City Centre Dr. when they approached a vehicle with three occupants.

Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen, leading to the arrest of the three individuals. Police subsequently found a firearm and a replica gun.

A 16-year-old from Mississauga, previously released on bail for his involvement in a violent robbery on July 7, has been charged with several offences, including possession of property obtained by crime, unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

A second young offender, a 16-year-old also from Mississauga, has been charged with similar offences. These include: possession of property obtained by crime, unauthorized possession of a firearm and knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Mohammed Sanaullah, 18, from Toronto, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime, unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm.

Peel police have not shared any further information, including images, regarding the identities of the two young teens, as they are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), which prohibits the release of a young person’s name.

All three suspects were held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
