Gun, cocaine, fentanyl found in car speeding through Oakville

Police in Halton Region say a driver speeding through Oakville near the Ford Assembly Plant was caught with a loaded gun and drugs,

According to reports, officers spotted a car racing along Royal Windsor Drive around 4:30 a.m. on Nov. 16. near the car plant, just west of Ford Drive.

The vehicle was pulled over and during their investigation, the officers found a loaded semi-automatic firearm and drugs including cocaine and fentanyl in the car.

Subsequently, a man was arrested and is facing the following charges:

  •          Dangerous operation of a vehicle
  •          Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  •          Knowledge of an unauthorized possession of a firearm
  •          Careless use of firearm, weapon, ammunition
  •          Carrying a concealed weapon
  •          Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  •          Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
  •          Two counts of possession of a firearm, ammunition contrary to a prohibition order
  •          Failing to comply with the conditions of a release order
  •          Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
  •          Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking

The person charged is Dejaun Gibbs, 27, of Toronto.
