Immerse yourself in the aromas and flavours of authentic Pakistani, Indian, and Hakka cuisine that’s all fully Halal at Zauq, located at 1325 Eglinton Avenue East near Dixie Road. The restaurant is celebrating its grand reopening after undergoing some big renovations over the past year.

If you’ve enjoyed a meal at Zauq before, then you should know it’s now an all new experience: The restaurant has been fully revamped with some exciting new menu items and one of the most instagrammable walls in Mississauga!

The picturesque transformation includes a new full greenery wall and natural wood accents that gives Zauq an intimate vibe that is reminiscent of trendy restaurants you’ll find in Bali.

Some mouthwatering new items are now on the menu, like the new Volcano Chicken: Chicken sautéed with red chili peppers and cashews in the chef’s special sauce, served on a sizzler.

Naturally, Zauq continues to serve its specialty Karahi dishes: Your choice of chicken, lamb, fish, or shrimp cooked with tomatoes, ginger, green chili peppers and hot spices in an iron wok. New menu items include the Shrimp Karahi and boneless Malai Chicken Karahi – or you might want to try their Kabab Karahi with beef or chicken.

Their biryani rice is also highly recommended and served with your choice of mixed vegetables, chicken, veal, or lamb pieces flavoured with fresh mint and herbs.

If you’re with a group, one of Zauq’s biggest crowd pleasers by far is their massive BBQ platter. It’s an assortment of their signature BBQ dishes: Reshmi Kabab, Malai Tikka, Chicken Tikka, Beef Bihari Kabab, Seekh Kabab, and Short Ribs, with a side of three tandoori naans. Their butter chicken is also a big crowd favourite.

Zauq’s new menu includes family-sized dishes, which are perfect for sharing around the table. It’s the best way to try a little bit of everything!

Speaking of dining with a group, Zauq features a family dining area, which is sanctioned off from the rest of the restaurant for larger parties of people to gather more intimately.

The restaurant’s history is a very interesting one. The owner, Syed Ali, always had a passion for the food industry and big dreams of starting his own restaurant one day. He came to Canada as a student in 2009 and worked as a part-time cook, further solidifying his love of food service.

Ali took over Zauq in 2013, running the restaurant with a motto of “What you prefer for yourself, you should provide to others” and a goal of offering quality food and service that many other restaurants lack.

Fun fact about the restaurant’s name: “Zauq” is derived from the Arabic word meaning “taste” to symbolize the authentic tastes and flavours that the restaurant offers. Zauq’s menu aims to cover all types of cravings and leave everyone at the table satisfied, no matter what they’re in the mood for.

Zauq is one restaurant that’s definitely worth dining in, just to soak up that elegant atmosphere while you enjoy an authentic culinary experience.

However, if you can’t find time to dine inside the restaurant, Zauq still offers delivery and takeout via Uber Eats and SkipTheDishes.
