In response to the inconveniences caused by CN rail disruptions that occurred on Oct. 3, GO Transit is offering credits to affected customers within 30 days of their delayed trips.
To be eligible for a credit, passengers must have purchased their ticket within one hour of the scheduled departure time.
According to their website, travellers using Presto cards or contactless payment methods, including cards on mobile devices or wearables have to tap within 15 minutes of the scheduled departure time to qualify for the credit.
Passengers who used a day or group pass, need to visit a GO station ambassador at Union Station within 30 days of the affected trip, or they can reach out to the GO Transit Contact Centre for assistance.
Authorities say individuals can check if they qualify for the credit by the “check trip” on the Presto app once the trip is complete.
Qualified customers are expected to get a full refund for their delayed trip, Presto card holders in their 35+ trip discount periods will receive the reduced fare paid as credit on their Presto card.
People who used a paper ticket, day pass or group pass, will receive a GO credit voucher and e-ticket users will get a refund of the same value they paid for the trip.
