More GO trains in GTA for Taylor Swift concerts.

More GO trains are being added to the tracks across the Greater Toronto Area and beyond for the next three days to get tens of thousands of Taylor Swift fans safely to and from the international pop star’s trio of concerts in Toronto.

Train trips are being added to all GO lines to provide the extra service for people in Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Burlington, Milton, Hamilton, Oshawa, Toronto and other areas north and west of Toronto.

The additional rail service is available on all three concert nights, from Thursday through Saturday, say officials with Metrolinx, the provincial agency that operates GO Transit.

Swift opened her six-concert Eras Tour Toronto swing with three shows last Thursday through Saturday, and she’ll conclude her stay in the city this weekend.

The hype generated across the GTA and southern Ontario by the pop star’s tour has been significant.

Beyond the extra train service, Metrolinx said “additional staff will also be onsite to help and customers are encouraged to keep alert in crowded areas as our stations will be busier than usual.”

Added GO train service Thursday through Saturday on the various rail lines:

  • Lakeshore West — three additional trips to Union Station in Toronto from Oakville GO (with stops only at Clarkson and Port Credit in Mississauga) on Thursday and Friday nights. On all three nights, there will be an extra trip following the concerts departing from Union Station and making all stops to Burlington GO. An extra weekday trip will depart Union Station at 12:02 a.m., making all stops to Burlington GO, in addition to regular service. An extra weekend trip will depart Union Station at 11:59 p.m., making all stops to Burlington GO
  • Lakeshore East — two additional trips to Union Station from Oshawa GO on Thursday and Friday nights. One additional trip on all three nights following the concerts departing at 12:05 a.m. from Union Station making all stops to Oshawa GO
  • Milton — one additional trip on all three nights departing Union Station at 11:59 p.m., making all stops to Milton GO

Additional train service will also be available on Kitchener, Stouffville and Barrie lines.

Special GO bus service will also be in place in certain areas.
