No GO train service in Mississauga November 2024.

GO trains will not run this weekend along the Lakeshore West line in Mississauga and west Toronto as the tracks are being shut down for repairs.

Starting late Friday night and continuing through the end of Sunday, “there will be no GO train service between Union Station (in Toronto) and Oakville GO,” transit officials said in a service update on Wednesday.

There will be no GO Transit service at all during that period at Port Credit GO in Mississauga in addition to Toronto stations that include Long Branch, Mimico and Exhibition. Riders who use those stations are urged to use local transit options instead.

However, replacement GO buses will be available at Clarkson (Mississauga) and Oakville stations, providing express service to and from Union Station Bus Terminal in Toronto, Metrolinx officials said.

Metrolinx, the provincial agency that operates GO Transit, added that regular GO train service will resume on Monday.

Transit officials said the Lakeshore West line is being temporarily shut down for the two full days in order to complete track work between Long Branch and Port Credit stations in addition to other maintenance along the line “to ensure the safe and reliable operations of our train services.”

They added the “critical track work will bring faster, more frequent service across the network.”

During the weekend service disruption, GO trains will continue to run as usual between Oakville and Niagara Falls, with only minor schedule adjustments.
