GO Train service delays continue after system failure

Commuters continued to face delays on the GO Train after a system failure.
Train service stopped yesterday around 1 p.m. (Oct. 3) due to a CN network-wide signal system failure. Limited train service started around 4:30 p.m.
Many commuters faced huge delays getting home.
Around 11:30 p.m. last night Metrolix said it was continuing to recover with modifications.
Train service was to be restored for today (Oct. 4) but Metrolinx said there could still be some delays and modifications.
This morning, there were issues with the 6:30 a.m. train from Niagara Falls GO with a “couple of coaches shorter than normal” due to the system failure, according to a post from GO Transit.
And the Oakville GO 07:21 a.m. train to Union Station was cancelled due to the system-wide signal outage yesterday.
Metrolinx encouraged riders to check the website for the latest updates.
“We are deeply thankful to all customers for their patience today as we worked with CN to resolve this major issue,” Metrolinx wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
