Go-karting is set to make its return to Mississauga.
K1 Speed, a growing chain of indoor go-kart race tracks, plans on opening its newest location later this year on Eglinton Ave. near Dixie Rd., likely this fall.
Already operating successfully in Toronto, K1 Speed originated in California by Boris Said, an American professional racing driver who competes in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
With 20-horsepower electric adult go-karts, speeds of up to 45 mph can reached on the tracks while junior karts can go up to 20 mph.
While there are some restrictions in terms of height requirements, K1 Speed is designed for racers of all ages with a focus on group outings and parties.
K1 Speed marks a return of go-karting in Mississauga which was last seen before the closure of Playdium in 2020.
