Global Indian restaurant known for biryani opens location in Mississauga

An Indian franchise restaurant with locations across North America and Europe is opening in Mississauga.

Nawabi Hyderabad House Biryani Place will open at 1250 Eglinton Ave. W., unit A1 on Dec. 5, the owners say.

This is the 45th location of the North American franchise, which started in Houston, Texas in 2013, according to the website.

Their signature dish is Hyderabadi biryani, a style of the popular rice dish originating from Hyderabad, the capital of the southern India state of Telangana. This style of biryani is so famous that the dish is considered synonymous with the city of Hyderabad.

There are a variety of biryanis on the menu, including chicken, mutton, fish and vegetarian options.

“The restaurant is known for its biryanis, a fragrant rice dish cooked with meat or vegetables and a blend of spices,” Nawabi Hyderabad says on its website.

Nawabi Hyderabad House Biryani Place also has hearty curries and a variety of Indian dishes on the menu.

The restaurant features an in-house bakery, offering daily-made treats.

A bar serving mocktails and cocktails will be coming soon.

Located at the bustling intersection of Eglinton Avenue West and Creditview Road, Nawabi Hyderabad House Biryani Place offers a fine dining experience with an elegant ambiance, complemented by a spacious interior that can accommodate up to 150 guests, according to a press release from the owners.

There is also ample parking at the plaza.

The Mississauga restaurant is owned by franchisors for Nawabs Hyderabad House in Canada. There are locations in Brampton, Burlington, Oakville, Whitby, Oshawa, Hamilton, Cambridge, London and Windsor.
