A 16-year-old Guelph girl faces child pornography charges after nude photos of her ex-boyfriend were sent to his parents, police say.
The matter came to the attention of Guelph Police in November when a woman reported to investigators that she had received text messages containing naked pictures of her 16-year-old son. A few days later, police say, the same photos were also sent to the boy’s father.
The Guelph woman further reported to investigators that her son had broken up with his girlfriend two days prior to the initial photos being sent, police said in a news release on Friday.
Police arrested a teen on Thursday.
A 16-year-old Guelph girl, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with possessing child pornography and two counts each of distributing child pornography and distributing intimate images without consent.
She’s scheduled to appear in court in January.
