Gas prices going down in Mississauga

Drivers in Mississauga and Brampton woke up to the lowest gas prices they have seen in the past six month this morning, but analysts predict it won’t last.

Today prices fell from the previous day to $1.54 per litre which has brought some much needed relief to consumers who have had to deal with inflated numbers all summer.

But the relief is expected to end as the Labour Day weekend approaches as some experts predict it will hit $1.85 come September, an increase of some 30 cents per litre from today’s prices.

Oil price industry analysts say the increase will come as the price of diesel fuel rises as the weather starts to cool down. This tends to pull the price of gasoline at the pumps along with it.

However, you will have almost a week to enjoy the current prices which haven’t been this low since February.

Since then, prices have steadily shot up and peaked at $2.15 in June in most Ontario locations and have hovered around $1.75 for most of August.

Currently the cheapest gas in Mississauga and Brampton:

Esso in Mississauga
(7025 Millcreek Dr)
147.9¢

Ultramar in Brampton
(2956 Queen St E)
144.7¢
