Gas prices are expected to go up this week in Mississauga, Hamilton, Brampton and across much of southern Ontario.

Fuel prices surged to approximately 170 cents per litre for regular this summer before easing to 162.9 cents on Sept. 19, coinciding with the arrival of cooler fall weather.

However, as of midnight on Oct. 15 gas prices are expected to go up four cents.

According to GasWizard.ca prices will rise from 147.9 per litre to 151.9 cents.

Gas Wizard prices are forecasts rooted in over 30 years of energy industry expertise from Dan McTeague, former Member of Parliament and current president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, as stated on the website.

Interestingly, during the same period last year (Oct. 2022), gas prices in the region saw notable fluctuations, with a peak at 180.9 cents per litre and a low of 152.9 cents.

Despite the anticipated fuel increase, there are gas stations offering lower prices.
