A garden centre in east Mississauga remains closed after flooding damaged the store in the summer.
But renovations have begun at Sheridan Nurseries located on Burnhamthorpe Road East, near Mill Road.
Victoria Mulvale, a spokesperson for Sheridan Nurseries, told INsauga.com earlier this year that the store experienced “significant flood damage” on July 16.
“As a result, we have had to temporarily close to address damage to products, our building, and our property,” she said in an email.
At the time, she said clean-up was “progressing well,” but there was “still significant restoration and rebuilding work to be done.”
Mulvale said Wednesday that they have started renovations and added that if all goes according to plan, the location will reopen at the end of March ” just in time for the spring season.”
Sheridan Nurseries does have other locations as well, with one of them on Southdown Road in Mississauga.
The July 16 storm dropped huge amounts of rain on the city; 97.8 mm was recorded at Toronto Pearson Airport.
Roads and homes were flooded in what Mississauga Fire Platoon Chief Steve Kraft called “a lifetime event.”
