Frost in the forecast for Mississauga, Brampton, Burlington and Oakville

The cold temperatures this week are about to get frigid.
Environment Canada issued a frost advisory for Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga and Brampton today (Oct. 20).
“Temperatures are expected to drop to near zero degrees Celsius early Friday morning in some areas,” the advisory reads.
Environment Canada suggests people cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas, and take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.
Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.
This is not the first advisory for the area this season, there was one issued earlier this month.
But it’s not all bad news, the weather is expected to warm up to 14 C on later on Friday, and up to 18 C on Monday, election day, according to the Environment Canada forecast.
