While it’s technically still summer–with a heatwave in the forecast for this week–parts of Ontario could see some frost and near-freezing temperatures as soon as tonight.

According to Environment Canada, frost advisories are in effect for several Ontario towns and cities, including Deep River, Haliburton, Minden, Huntsville, Kirkland Lake, North Bay, Renfrew, Timmins, and other more northern areas.

On its website, Environment Canada says frost might damage some crops.

The weather agency says patchy frost is expected tonight into Tuesday morning, with temperatures near the freezing mark.

Residents in the impacted areas are advised to cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas.
