Erin Meadows Community Centre is getting a facelift starting this month.

A community centre and library in Mississauga’s west end is getting a major makeover starting this month.

Erin Meadows Community Centre and Library, located at Erin Centre Blvd. and Glen Erin Dr., is getting a fresh new look on the outside.

Work is scheduled to begin the week of Aug. 21, according to City of Mississauga officials, and renovations will focus on the exterior of the large building, which also includes St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School.

Work is expected to be done by May 31, 2024.

City officials say work/improvements to be completed include:

  • updating entrance sign
  • new paving and improved walkway connections
  • planting enhancements
  • pedestrian lighting improvements
  • artificial turf flexible space
  • seating improvements
  • sensory garden planters

The Erin Meadows Community Centre and Library Outdoor Redevelopment project “will renew the aging landscape fronting the corner of Erin Centre Blvd. and Glen Erin Dr. to improve pedestrian circulation, views and flexible use space,” Mississauga Ward 9 Councillor Martin Reid said in an online newsletter to residents.

Upgrades have also been completed to the basketball and pickleball courts at the facility, according to the City.

Erin Meadows Community Centre and Library was Mississauga’s first shared-use facility. It was built under a joint partnership between the City, the Mississauga Library Board and the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board.

Such agreements reduce capital costs for all partners.
