Free transit and parade set for Canadian veterans this weekend in Brampton

Veterans will be honored this weekend with the Warriors’ Day Parade in Brampton.
The event — hosted by Brampton Transit — will operate in tandem with a day of free transit for all commuters with veteran status, plus one additional companion.
Those looking to engage with free transit services can prove their status with the Canadian Armed Forces by presenting:
- Medals
- Berets
- Uniforms
- Blazers
- Service Papers
This year’s Warriors’ Day Parade also marks the 103rd year of the celebration, with this year’s focus being both the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Centennial and the 80th Anniversary of D-Day.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 17.
