If you’re looking for something free and family-friendly to do this upcoming weekend, you might be happy to hear that a free concert is slated to take place in Mississauga’s bustling Port Credit neighbourhood.

On Sunday, July 9, the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra (MSO) will perform a free show in the gazebo at Port Credit Memorial Park (40 Lakeshore Rd. E.).

According to an MSO news release, the orchestra will play a mix of pop and classical material, as well as some well-known movie tunes.

The performance is part of the city’s Summer Concert Series and will mark the start of the festivities for the season. The series will feature free outdoor concerts in Port Credit Memorial Park and Streetsville Square throughout July and August.

Over the course of the summer, attendees can check out performances by Cat Bernardi Quartet, Mauve, Five and Tens, Tall Order, Heather Christine Quintet with Matt Zaddy, Jay Boehmer Trio & Friends and more.

“From John Williams to Camille Saint-Saëns, this rare outdoor performance will feature music for all tastes and age groups,” MSO said in a news release.
