A popular holiday event is returning to Mississauga’s Cooksville neighbourhood in December.
Heart Comonos, a local community group that hosts free events in Cooksville, is expecting hundreds of guests at their Magical Holiday Season Celebration.
This year, the free event will happen from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 67 Hillcrest Ave (by the Cooksville GO station).
Planned activities include live drumming, a drumming workshop, a children’s choir, Indigenous-led smudging, a live violin performance, carol singing, live bands playing holiday music, and candle-lighting.
Food and drinks will be available including hot chocolate, coffee, and Belgian waffles.
Heart Comonos says they’ll also have gifts for everyone to take home, while supplies last.
“We are also encouraging attendees to bring new and gently used winter goods (sleeping bags, hats, scarves, etc.) or non-perishable food items that we can then give to residents in need,” said the event organizers.
Admission is free, and guests are encouraged to register online.
