A children’s play centre is moving into the space that was once home to a notorious nightclub in Mississauga.
Amazing Fun Park is currently under construction and plans to open in a couple of months at 1325 Eglinton Ave E., the business confirmed with INsauga.com.
The new facility will be “an indoor playground designed for children 12 years of age and under.”
The centre will have ball pits, rides, state-of-the-art virtual reality games and stage performances for entertainment, according to the website.
The space was formerly HER nightclub, the owner said.
HER nightclub was shut down for two weeks in September of 2022 in the midst of growing violence. At that time, Peel Regional Police said officers had responded to more than two dozen incidents in and around the nightclub including five shootings since Jan. 1, 2021.
The club said on social media they did not condone the violence and were updating safety protocols.
But after restrictions imposed on their operating hours, the club didn’t reopen.
Wildflower Caribbean Resto Bar appears to have opened in the space in December 2023 but is now marked as temporarily closed on Google. The website has shut down.
