A year ago, the Burlington Food Truck Festival was without a home.

Kicked out of Spencer Smith Park due to the competitive objections raised by downtown restaurants, festival organizers feared they would have to pull up stakes and head out of town.

But after months of negotiations and planning the festival has found a new home at Burloak Waterfront Park.

Tomorrow the festival kicks off its three-day run at the new location at the park in Burlington near Oakville.

Although the new space is smaller, festival organizers say it should pack no less of a punch for attendees who will have the choice of food items from an expected 26 vendors selling a wide variety of items.

Some of the vendors include Buster’s Sea Cove, Cheesecake by Heirloom, Los Vietnamita, Ontario Corn Roasters, Super Churros, Tornado Fries and Kathi Roll Express.

A full list of participants can be found here.

Along with the food, entertainment and other events are planned all weekend such as an eating competition and performances by several cover bands.

Admission to the grounds is free.

Festival hours are:

  • Friday, July 19 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 20 noon to 10 p.m.
  • Sunday, July 21 noon to 9 p.m.

The park is located at 5420 Lakeshore Road.
