Mississauga woke up to a blanket of fog this morning and that is causing some flight delays at Pearson Airport.

A fog advisory was issued this morning (Nov. 24) for Mississauga and surrounding cities including Brampton, Burlington and Hamilton.

The persistent fog is resulting in near zero visibility, the advisory read.

The fog is expected dissipate rapidly through the middle of the morning but the weather caused delays at the airport.

“To maintain safe operations, the flow of arrivals has been reduced by NAV Canada as a result of fog affecting the region,” Pearson Airport officials say in a tweet. “The airport continues to operate, but inbound flights may be delayed.”

Those travelling today may experience some delays.

“Passengers are recommended to check their flight time and status with their airline before leaving for the airport,” the tweet continues.
