Flood waters close all lanes at major highway on-ramp in Brampton

Rising flood waters have forced emergency crews to close all lanes where two major highways meet in Brampton.
The province says flooding on Highway 407 has led to the closure of the eastbound on-ramp at Highway 401 in Brampton on Tuesday, according to Ontario 511.
Drivers should avoid the area if possible or find alternate routes.
Highway 410 southbound from Brampton into Mississauga has also closed to traffic due to significant flooding on the busy route.
Toronto Pearson Airport recorded 97.41 mm of rain in under four hours. The heavy rain has caused chaos on the roads with videos shared on social media showing flooding in Brampton at Dixie and Orenda Roads, as well as rising waters in Chinguacousy Park.
Brampton Fire & Emergency Services is warning residents to stay away from moving water, avoid flooded areas, keep children and pets away from water. BFES says never to drive through flooded areas if possible, and to check your basements for flooding.
