Credit Valley Conservation has issued a Flood Outlook Statement for Mississauga today (July 25).
Due to the recent rainfall, flooding of small headwater and urban areas is possible, although flooding of the main Credit River and tributaries is not expected.
“Local streams and rivers could become dangerous, especially in the vicinity of culverts, bridges and dams,” says Credit Valley Conservation. “Stormwater infrastructure operates 24/7 and can flood rapidly and unexpectedly in response to rainfall and snowmelt.”
All residents are advised to stay away from all watercourses and call 311 to report flooding.
