Flights out of Toronto Pearson Airport in Mississauga could be impacted by a rare November hurricane.
Hurricane Rafael moved past the Cayman Islands Tuesday night and is expected to gain strength as it heads toward Cuba on Wednesday, according to multiple news reports.
The storm could be a Category 2 hurricane as it makes landfall in Cuba before losing strength as it continues toward Texas and Louisiana.
Pearson Airport officials said they are monitoring the hurricane.
“Some airlines have cancelled flights to the Caribbean, while some flights are delayed,” Pearson said on X.
