Flights at Pearson Airport in Mississauga are being impacted for a third consecutive day as heavy fog continues to make for potentially dangerous conditions.

After another Environment Canada extreme fog advisory was issued first thing this morning for the GTA, Pearson officials took to social media to advise travellers and others that “Regional weather may impact operations this morning at Pearson. Please check your flight status with your airline before leaving for the airport.”

Over the last two days, NavCanada reduced the flow of flight arrivals at Pearson due to the heavy fog, which presented potentially dangerous conditions for landing.

The fog advisory is in effect for Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Halton Hills.

The advisory warns of the potential for near zero visibility as the fog settles over the region. It’s expected to last into the late morning or lunchtime.

On the roads, travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility. If visibility is reduced while driving, motorists are urged to slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
