Five Mississauga and Brampton neighbourhoods still have high COVID-19 rates

While COVID-19 percent positivity rates (the percentage of positive COVID-19 tests in an area) are continuing to drop across Ontario, some areas of Mississauga and Brampton are still reporting relatively high rates.
Toronto-based research group ICES listed postal code areas in Ontario with the highest percent positivity rates for the week of June 13 to 19.
Of the top 50 listed, three are in Mississauga and two in Brampton:
L4T at 6.46% (area of Goreway and Morning Star in Mississauga)
19th highest percent positivity area in Ontario
L6Z at 5.44% (area of Kennedy and Sandalwood Pkwy E in Brampton)
30th highest percent positivity area in Ontario
L5V at 4.83% (area of Britannia Rd W and Terry Fox Way in Mississauga)
35th highest percent positivity area in Ontario
L6T at 4.55% (area of Highway 407 and Airport Rd in Brampton)
43rd highest percent positivity area in Ontario
L5R at 4.26% (area of McLaughlin and Bristol Rd W in Mississauga)
46th highest percent positivity area in Ontario
For the first time in months, Peel Region (Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon) has only the fourth worst COVID-19 percent positivity in the province.
For all Ontario residents, the overall percent positivity among those tested for COVID-19 during the week of June 13 was 1.7%, a drop from 2.4% the previous week.
Ontario has reached 73% overall vaccine coverage among those aged 12 and up, a 2% increase from the previous week.
