Deciding to try out a new game turned out to be a $50,000 stroke of good luck for a Brampton lottery winner.
Glenn Bricker is a father of two and a salesman in Brampton who bought a Tripple Millions ticket for a draw in August. It was the first time Bricker had played Tripple Millions and he says he was stunned to find the ticket was a winner.
“I was at the store, but the line at register was pretty long, so I decided to use the ticket checker,” Bricker said.
That’s when he saw the words “Big Winner” come up on the screen saying it was “a great surprise.”
“It was interesting and fun to watch the lottery terminal freeze,” he said.
The Brampton father said he called his wife to share the good news but she couldn’t beleive it was true.
“I took pictures of the lottery terminal printouts and sent them to her. I also let her know I was going to be late for dinner,” Bricker said with a smile while picking up his winnings at the OLG prize centre in Toronto.
Bricker said he ‘s looking forward to taking the family on a “luxurious vacation without the worry of how we will pay for it.”
Tripple Millions is a limited-time OLG lottery game that was available for $20 from June 20 to Aug. 29 with three $50,000 Early Bird prizes and 402 additional prizes between $1,000 and $250,000.
The OLG says it supports safe play and responsible gambling through its PlaySmart program.
The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K on Heart Lake Road in Brampton.
