First degree murder charges for man in Brampton shooting

A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting homicide that left one man dead in Brampton last Friday (August 30).

Parmvir Singh, 23, from Brampton, was arrested shortly before midnight on the same Friday and is facing First Degree Murder charges.

Police officers responded to call at an address on Milestone Drive and upon their arrival discovered a deceased adult male in a vehicle who had been shot.

The family has requested that the identity of the victim not be released.

Singh was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

The motive of the shooting remains under investigation.

“Detectives are confident that this shooting was isolated to the individuals involved and does not appear to be random,” said Peel Regional Police.
