Fired employee breaks into former workplace 9 times; charges laid against Hamilton and Mississauga Men, police say

Police seized keys and laid break-and-enter charges against men from Hamilton, Mississauga and Toronto after a fired worker allegedly broke into their former workplace nine times.

The break-ins all happened between mid-October and Dec. 16 at a business in Guelph near Gordon Street and Harvard Road.

The Guelph Police Service says officers were called to the business around 3 a.m. last Tuesday where they found a grey SUV in the parking lot that took off “at a high rate of speed” when police arrived.

Police say the vehicle was located a short while later at a plaza and two male occupants were arrested.

A third male was also arrested as he was walking towards the same plaza, police say.

Investigators say one of the men was a former employee of the business and had previously broken into the store eight times.

Keys to the store were recovered following the former employee’s arrest, police say.

The Guelph Police Service says a 36-year-old man from Hamilton was arrested and charged with nine counts of break-and-enter. A 25-year-old man from Mississauga and an 18-year-old Toronto man were each also arrested and charged with one count of break-and-enter.

The accused are all scheduled to make a court appearance on Jan. 31.

None of the names of the accused have been released.
