Emergency crews are on the scene of a fire that’s damaged a home and gutted a garage in Brampton.

The blaze happened on Thursday afternoon at a home in the area of Van Scott Drive and McLaughlin Road in Brampton, according to Brampton Fire and Emergency Services (BFAS).

Photos shared from the scene by BFES Chief Bill Boyes show at least three BFES fire trucks dousing the home, which appears to have severe damage to the garage and second storey.

Boyes says two homes sustained “significant fire damage” in the blaze.

A spokesperson for Peel Paramedic Services confirmed that paramedics are on standby but no injuries have been reported and no patients have been treated at the scene.

Peel Regional Police say they are aware of the blaze but have not provided a comment. Residents and drivers should steer clear of the area while emergency crews are on the scene.
