Crews are evacuating a residential building in Brampton after a fire broke out on Monday afternoon.
Police say emergency crews were called to a building in the area of Clark Boulevard and Dixie Road in Brampton just after 2:00 p.m. on Monday for reports of a fire.
Brampton Fire Chief Bill Boyes said on Twitter that the fire is in a high rise apartment on Lisa Street.
The building is being evacuated and roads were closed on Lisa Street and Clark Boulevard, as well as Lisa Street and Silver Maple Court.
Just before 4:00 p.m., Boyes said the fire was under control.
There were no fire-related injuries, and police and paramedics were on scene to offer support while Brampton Transit provided buses to shelter displaced residents.
