Crews battle 5 different house fires in 1 day in Brampton

Five separate house fires kept Brampton crews busy yesterday.

The first fire on Sunday (April 30) broke out in the afternoon. Firefighters were fighting a blaze at a home on Torbram Road near East Drive at 1:30 p.m., Brampton Fire and Emergency Services said in a tweet. Southbound Torbram Road was closed to allow firefighting operations.

By 1:46 p.m., the fire was under control but crews remained on the scene conducting overhaul operations for several hours.

Then just after 6 p.m., Brampton fire crews were at a two-alarm house fire in the area of Queen Street West and McLaughlin Road South. Smoke could be seen billowing from the home. By around 6:40 p.m., that fire was under control as crews conducted extensive overhaul operations.

But a short time later, at 7:26 p.m., Brampton Fire and Emergency Services reported they were at another two-alarm house fire on Martin Byrne Drive. There were road closures in the area.

Then, around 8 p.m., crews were on the scene of a two-alarm residential fire in the area of Wanless Drive and Brisdale Drive. At that time the blaze was under control and crews were ventilating the home and performing an overhaul.

Finally, firefighters were on the scene of a house fire in the area of Airport Road and Countryside Drive around 10 p.m.

Countryside Drive was closed while crews battled the blaze.

There is no word on the cause of any of the fires. Brampton Fire did not say if anyone was injured.
