Firefighters knocked down a two-alarm fire at a Brampton residence over the Thanksgiving long weekend.

The fire broke out at a home in the area of Edenbrook Hill Drive and Heartleaf Crescent on Monday (Oct. 9) around 12:30 p.m., Peel Regional Police said.

Brampton Fire and Emergency Services (BFES) said the blaze was a two-alarm fire, meaning additional firefighting resources were called in to tackle the fire.

Photos from the scene shared by BFES show several firefighters, firefighting vehicles and pumper trucks gathered around a home with its garage door, front door and windows open.

No smoke or flame can be seen in the photos, but it appears firefighters needed to access the top floor by ladders, and one of the fire truck’s ariels is extended.

Police closed off Heartleaf Cres. at Edenbrook Hill Drive while emergency crews were on the scene and Blueleaf Trail was also shut down at Edenbrook Hill Dr.

No injuries were reported and fire crews said the blaze had been brought under control around 1:45 p.m. on Monday.

Details regarding the cause of the fire were not immediately available and the investigation is ongoing.
