Fire breaks out in Brampton townhome basement

Firefighters battled a blaze in Brampton basement this afternoon (Jan. 19).
Around 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, Brampton Fire and Emergency Services said crews had been called to a home on Jacobs Square in Brampton.
BFES said on Twitter that firefighters were on the scene working to knock down a fire in the home’s basement.
Photos from the scene show smoke coming from a townhome as firefighters work to get the fire under control.
No injuries have been reported and BFES said the fire was under control by around 3:30 p.m. BFES is asking residents to stay clear of the area while crews are on the scene.
