Final showcase presentation for this year’s Centre Stage program to be held in Brampton

Performing Arts Brampton will be hosting the final showcase presentation for this year’s Centre Stage Program next week.
Centre Stage is a free training program for young artists from the City of Brampton and beyond. It is meant for young artists who are passionate about their artistic work and ready to challenge themselves in how they engage with the performing arts.
The upcoming presentation will be the final one of the 2022/2023 Centre Stage program, which features local youth who have spent several months learning from industry professionals.
In the final showcase presentation, which will take place on Mar. 29 at Lester B. Pearson Memorial Theatre, youth performers will entertain audiences with dance, theatre, music and more.
This year, participants engaged in professional development and mentorship workshops with industry professionals including several of which have developed their skills and careers in Brampton.
These include Acting with Yolanda Bonnell, Entrepreneurship with Ian Keteku, Movement with Jade Jager Clark, Storytelling with Sharada Eswar and Voice with Darryn de Sousa.
A total of 17 youths from Brampton and Peel Region who excel in acting, dancing, singing and performing have been workshopping their final pieces under the guidance of Steven Schipper, Performing Arts Brampton’s Executive Artistic Director.
Schipper has 50 years of experience as a theatre director and has received the Order of Canada.
This year’s showcase promises to offer a little something for everyone including an afternoon performance for school groups and a free public performance in the evening that will feature the next generation of talent.
