Fatal car crash in Brampton leads to road closures

One person has died, and another is injured after a two-car crash in Brampton.
Motorists in Brampton will need to choose alternative routes, likely for the next few hours, as a result of the collision in the area of McVean Drive and Countryside Dr. that occurred some time after 8 p.m. on Wednesday night. The Peel Regional Police received a report about the crash at around 8:20.
One of the people involved in the crash was pronounced dead at hospital. The injuries to another person have been described as minor.
Countryside Dr. is closed westbound at Fenton Way and eastbound at Forestview Court.
McVean Dr. is shutdown southbound at Masham Gate and northbound at Bowman Avenue.
A fatal collision can lead to police requiring the expertise of a collision restruction team to conduct an investigation. Those investigations can often take several hours.
