Despite it hitting theatres in just a few months, last-minute reshoots of a major Hollywood movie are forcing road closures and transit detours in Milton this week.
According to the Town of Milton, filming reshoots for the M. Night Shyamalan film Trap will close Main Street East, between James and Martin streets, from 4 p.m. Thursday, May 16, until 6 a.m. on Friday.
The movie initially shot at various GTA locations last year, including Milton, Toronto, Mississauga and Hamilton.
Scheduled for an early August release, you can watch the trailer for Trap here. The film prominently features Toronto’s Rogers Centre and stars Josh Hartnett and singer Saleka.
The road closure will mean Milton Transit routes Routes 2W and 6 inbound will detour via Bronte St. and Mill St. Regular routing for 2W will resume on Martin St. and Main St., and for 6 inbound on Millside Dr. and Main St.
Shyamalan is best known for making original films with contemporary supernatural plots and twist endings – 1999’s The Sixth Sense, which earned him Oscar nominations for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay – is a perfect example.
Other Shyamalan productions include Last Airbender, Unbreakable, Signs and last year’s Knock at the Cabin.
