Eight people charged and handgun seized following shooting in Brampton

Charges have been laid against eight people following a shooting in Brampton that led to a takedown by the Peel police tactical team.
Peel Regional Police (PRP) say officers were called to a residence in the area of Donald Stewart Road and Brisdale Drive in Brampton shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Monday (Oct. 2) for reports of a shooting.
No injuries were reported in the shooting but police say officers and members of the PRP Tactical Unit removed eight people from the home who were arrested.
Then on Tuesday, police say officers located a 9mm Beretta handgun from the home during a search.
A total of eight individuals ranging from 19 to 26 years old have been charged with possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, one of which also faces an additional charge of careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition.
Rajanpreet Singh, 21, Jagdeep Singh, 22, Ekamjot Randhawa, 19, Manjinder Singh, 26, Harpreet Singh, 23, Ripanjot Singh, 22, Japandeep Singh, 22, and Lovepreet Singh, 26, all from Brampton have been charged in connection to the shooting.
The accused were all held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
