Durham Region reported just two new cases of Covid-19 yesterday for the second day in a row, bringing the seven-day average to just over four per day.

If not for a blip on Wednesday when 12 new cases were reported, that average would be even lower. The following day zero cases were reported, the first such day since Pandemic reporting began 16 months ago.

Just two people are in hospital right now with the virus.

On the vaccination front, the total number of people vaccinated is now 757,759, representing nearly 75 per cent of the adult population with one dose. Fifty-two per cent of Durham is now fully vaccinated.

Upcoming vaccination clinics in the Region include a walk-in clinic at the Shopper’s Drug Mart at 419 King Street East in Oshawa 10 am – 8 pm all week long (Moderna); an outdoor clinic in the east parking lot at the Pickering Town Centre today and tomorrow 10 am – 6 pm (Pfizer); and Youth 1st dose clinics (12-17 plus un-vaccinated relatives) all week at Audley Recreation Centre in Ajax and Garnet Rickard Recreation Complex in Bowmanville.
