Using duct tape as a replacement for a busted window has led to charges including careless driving for a trucker from Brampton, police say.

Officers spotted the makeshift repair job after receiving a call from a concerned driver, the OPP says.

When police located the commercial vehicle they found the driver’s side window had been broken, with a replacement made out of duct tape.

Photos of the vehicle shared by police show the window was patched with a lattice of duct tape.

The vehicle was inspected and found unsafe for travel while the 27-year-old driver was charged with multiple offences including careless driving, police say.

The truck was also taken off the road.

The OPP says a 27-year-old driver from Brampton was charged with no clear view to sides, improper mirror – commercial motor vehicle, careless driving, and fail to report accident.

The name of the accused has not been released.

Police say anyone who sees an unsafe driver or suspects a driver of operating while impaired by drugs or alcohol is encouraged to call 911 and report it when safe to do so.
