Police have charged a 22-year-old from Brampton with trafficking after $110,000 worth of fentanyl, cocaine, crystal meth and other drugs were seized from a small town in northeastern Ontario.
The OPP says officers from the James Bay detachment served a search warrant on Tuesday in Moosonee, a small town near Hudson Bay with no roads in or out and is only accessible by plane or train.
Investigators found several suspected drugs during the search including fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, psilocybin (also known as magic mushrooms) and cannabis worth approximately $110,000, police say.
Six people were arrested including a 22-year-old from Brampton and a 15-year-old from York, and police say a total of 47 combined charges have been laid.
Arnav Arora, 22, of Brampton has been charged with multiple trafficking offences and one count of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Charges have also been laid against Daiton Glover-Jansen, 18, of Etobicoke, Jennifer Nakogee, 40, of Moosonee, Benjamin Ormorgie, 22, and Valene Wabano, 27, both of Timmins, and a 15-year-old from York.
The 15-year-old cannot be named due to a general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
All of the accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court on Wednesday in Moosonee.
